Why Guy de Faye?

Proposer - Richard Le Boutillier
Seconders
Stuart Abraham Wally Battrick Alex Glendinning
Peter Gosheron Julie Le Sueur Peter Pitcher
Jonathan Scriven Jean Sim Guy Thornington

No Allegiances - Guy is a politician without allegiance to any party, group or ideology. But more important than that, in my eyes, is Guy's ability to judge the issues before him with a total absence of fear or favour.

Analytical - His colleagues on the Planning and Environment Committee have seen at first hand the dispassionate and analytical judgement he brings to their deliberations.

Anyone who is unsure whether to put a tick alongside Guy's name in the forthcoming election, I would urge them to take advice from other members of P and E and I am quite confident that they would concur with what I am saying.

Ability to get to the heart of the matter - Anyone who follows States debates will know that Guy has a keen sense of humour, but more and more of his fellow members and those States employees with whom he works are recognising a deep intellect and an ability to get to the heart of an issue quickly.

Public Transport - If Guy is re-elected into the States he has expressed a desire to stand as minister with responsibility for transport. For the last few years he has only used public transport and is ideally placed to assess the value we are getting from our public transport system. I would add that Guy is not a woolly minded idealist who believes that we should all leave our cars at home and use the bus but someone who is committed to delivering a better bus service.

The interests of his island - Islanders can be confident in the knowledge that the interests of his Island are the only interests that influence Guy's decisions in the States.

A vote for Guy is a vote for good government.
