Why Guy de Faye?

Proposer - Richard Le Boutillier
Seconders
Dr John Stewart-Jones Wally Battrick Jonathan Scriven
Mandy Le Flohic Patrick Murphy Jean Sim
Timothy Parker-Garner Peter Gosheron Naomi Renouf

An asset to local residents - In proposing Guy de Faye as one of the four Deputies representing St Helier Districts 3 and 4, I believe he will prove to be an asset to local residents, as well as to the island as a whole.

An analytical mind/outstanding presentational abilities - Like 7,576 other voters, I was disappointed that Guy failed to win a seat in the recent Senatorial election. However, over 12 parish hustings, I think Guy demonstrated that he has an analytical mind coupled with outstanding presentational abilities. He was especially distinctive in his desire to find solutions to problems and frequently made practical or imaginative responses to questions from the electorate

A global perspective - Many of us will remember Guy de Faye's days as one of the main news reporters at Channel Television during the eighties. Since then, Guy has followed a varied and interesting career in international news reporting including 7 years on the I.T.N. World News. Guy also spent several years as a reporter with CNBC Business News and most recently he has been a freelance broadcaster and writer for EuroNews in Lyon, a multi-lingual European news channel.

An undying interest in Jersey - Throughout his time away Guy has remained a keen follower of events in his island home and has always nurtured the ambition of returning.

A Jerseyman - Guy comes from 2 Jersey families, the de Fayes and the Le Quesnes, with a long history of distinguished public service. A true Jerseyman, Guy has a passion for the sea and a deep concern for the Island landscape. He will be a staunch friend and ally of those who believe in caring for the environment.

A keen enquiring brain and skilled debater - Before entering the media Guy graduated with an Honours degree in law. He is intelligent, with a keen inquiring brain and is a skilled debater. His wide ranging journalistic experience has taught him to assimilate large quantities of information and extract those bits which are important and relevant. These are all qualities which can only be an asset in the States Chamber.

Guy is a resident of No 3 District and will be a dedicated defender of local interests
